You know the saying: “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”
It’s a great saying with a lot of truth and pizazz to staying positive, but there are times I want to pitch it (usually in someone’s face!)
To be honest, this week is one of those times. I feel like I’ve got gallons of the citrus stuff but no one interested in sampling or buying. By the way, I’m not just talking about my books.
Yes, my cynical nature is particularly tart today, and being exhausted isn’t helping me either.
And like you, I have choices. I can continue to squeeze out lemonade or I can take a bath in it and really get bitter (something my family LOVES!)
So I’ll press on… I’ll acknowledge my dire attitude, do my best to adjust and realign, and start to count the many blessing I do have. Let’s call this honest hope.
It’s also times like these I’m thankful I’m married to a very positive person who takes my “Eeyoreisms” with much grace…and glasses of lemonade.
Yeah, I’ve had my share of bleak times. Stay positive, man. You’ll get through it.

“Eeyoreisms” … nice! 🙂 Though you’d better watch out: too much hangdog and your good lady might decide to start playing ‘pin the tail’… which brings water to my eyes just thinking about it…!

i think we all have those lemonade moments. mine was this morning when i visited the bathroom mirror; my morning ritual of welcoming new gray hairs to my fleeting (fleeing?) flock of follicles. anyhoo, this morning i was greeted by a very robust and proud pimple. on the tip of my nose. i have been on this earth almost 41 years–shouldnt i be passed the puberty stage by now?! im not even sure what i did to deserve a zit fairy visit. no chocolate, washed face the night before, drank plenty of water, kissed my wife goodnight… unless my husbandly affection somehow stirred the wrath of the pimple gods, i did nothing. so, keep your chin up (or nose). at least you dont have to face the day with a honkin zit waving at everyone you meet…

Maybe the zit is an allegorical sign that you’re a “child at heart.” 🙂
